Homeopathy
A number of pages on the web have discussed the use of homeopathic medicines for avian flu. I personally don't think that this is a wise idea. On the psoriasis boards (another disease with excess cytokine production), several homeopathy fans have encouraged these remedies for immune malfunction associated with psoriasis. They suggest that homeopathic remedies may not work quickly, but have seen results after using homeopathy for a year or more!!A remedy that works that slow is unlikely to be of benefit for H5N1 or other influenzas, which can kill in the course of a few days. The 'scientific' basis for homeopathy is not scientific at all. But I do think that some homeopathic remedies may work, simply because they were arrived at by a process of trial and error over time. Also, some 'homeopathic' remedies (including a common brand of zinc lozenges) contain doses that are much larger than a true homeopath would use. Not convinced??
